Mobility. New regulated parking areas have been established in the Bovisa and Portello districts

Milan, May 21 2021 – The blue parking will be established to facilitate parking for residents in the Bovisa and Portello districts. For this reason, the council today expanded area 43 in Municipality 9 and established area 41 in Municipality 8.

The Bovisa area has undergone notable changes in recent decades: the redevelopment or construction of numerous residential buildings, the establishment of a strong attraction center such as the Polytechnic and the opening of a municipal headquarters. It is therefore necessary to proceed with the establishment of regulated paid parking. In particular, the area east of the railway, together with the Bovisasca district, is aggregated to the existing parking area number 43 of Affori, Comasina, Dergano and Bruzzano. While the part of Bovisa to the west of the railway is inserted into a new area, 41, which includes the entire area between the Bovisa - Saronno railway and Viale Certosa, outside the trolleybus circle.

Residents of the two areas - 43 and 41 - will be able to park for free with the pass they will receive at home in the coming months. The first areas that will be traced in summer 2021 are those of Bovisa east of the railway and those near Piazzale Accursio, where the problems related to parking for residents are greater.

"The regulation of parking - declares Marco Granelli, councilor for Mobility - adapted to the specific functional characteristics of the context and the road network is aimed at encouraging sustainable mobility, improving circulation, enhancing public spaces and environmental quality thanks to the reduction of vehicular traffic entering regulated areas. Without forgetting that it is crucial to facilitate parking for residents who will be able to park for free and will thus have greater availability of spaces".
