Mobility. Forum 'Mobility and city design', five meetings to discuss the future of Milan

Councilor Censi: "A discussion has begun with experts, associations and citizens on a new vision to build together" Milan, June 28 2022 - The first event of the Mobility Forum organized by the Municipality of Milan will start on July 5th: five meetings to discuss and engage with experts, associations and citizens on mobility and the design of the city. “The mobility system in a city not only affects people's movements – explains Arianna Censi, councilor for Mobility – but can profoundly affect the quality of life of all citizens. The challenge is therefore to try to imagine new ways of moving and a different use of urban space, trying to respond to the demand for efficiency, inclusiveness, safety but also to the urgent response to the energy, environmental and climate crisis". In the five public debates we will talk about public space to be recovered for sociality (Tuesday 5 July), about life time that can be gained thanks to innovation (Wednesday 6 July), about individual and collective responsibility for achieving common well-being (Friday 8 July), of commitment, that which must determine the policies and choices of public decision-makers and representatives of the private world (Thursday 14 July). In the presence of the Mayor Giuseppe Sala, the councilor for Mobility Arianna Censi, Tuesday 12 July in Palazzo Marino, the theme of mobility will be addressed in its capacity to determine the design of the city and at the same time be a tool for weaving the territory. “We want to open a debate on these issues – concludes Censi – because I think it is important that everyone knows that the challenge for more sustainable mobility concerns everyone, because it is from the results we obtain that a greater or lesser livability of our city will derive. Individual citizens, associations, businesses can have an extraordinarily important role: conveying the awareness that everyone's actions have consequences for the entire community. And choosing how to move is crucial for the future." To this link the complete program
