Councilor Censi: "Tool that allows them to put themselves at the service of the city"

Milan, January 2 2022 – Free ATM subscriptions to City Angels, the association of volunteers whose mission is to help the weakest and which at the same time constitutes a safeguard for safety.

The Municipality of Milan has decided to continue with this initiative in 2022, in light of the positive effects recorded in recent years of the presence of City Angels volunteers on public transport and in underground stations.

The association, founded in 1994 in one of the problematic areas of the city, the Central Station of Milan, continued its activity by bringing aid to the weakest, such as the homeless and migrants, and developing initiatives to address forms of exclusion and social marginalization that can cause safety issues. One of their primary areas of intervention are the stations, subways and public transport that offer shelter to people in difficulty.

"Volunteering and associations are a great resource for our city – explains Mobility Councilor Arianna Censi – and this is undoubtedly an effective way to encourage their presence on public transport. The Municipality of Milan has long supported the activities of the City angels for the beneficial effects in the fight against the marginalization of the weakest and in the logic of strengthening security. In this case it is a question of providing a tool that allows them to put themselves at the service of society and carry out their mission".
