Milan, May 23 2021 – Milan and seven European cities - Ljubljana, Maribor, Novi Sad, Patras, Podgorica, Sarajevo and Zagreb -, led by the Polytechnic of Milan, have launched the TRIBUTE Project - Integrated and Innovative Actions for Sustainable Urban Mobility Upgrade - for research aimed at identify innovative mobility solutions to cope with the changes of recent years.

Milan is committed to its 'Living Lab', involving mobility players who come into play in conjunction with major events, to introduce a tool for managing peaks in demand for local public transport, integrating the offer through the optimization of services managed by sharing mobility operators.

The European TRIBUTE project, officially launched in January 2021, aims to develop a common transnational strategy for urban transport in the Adriatic-Ionian region, in line with the new European objectives in favor of sustainable, integrated and inclusive mobility. The estimated duration of the project is 30 months, while its total value is 3.269.400 euros of which over 2,7 million financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the IPA II pre-accession assistance instrument.

The partner cities undertake to carry out "pilot" actions including: innovative mobility solutions for elderly and disabled users, advanced passenger information systems for public transport, systems for optimizing sharing mobility services during major events, promotion of bicycle mobility, diffusion of electric vehicles and integrated urban transport management systems.

TRIBUTE's approach is based on the creation of 'Living Labs', a tool to involve citizens, public administration, universities, industry and companies interested in improving urban mobility, in order to co-design, experiment and evaluate sustainable mobility solutions and innovative for the cities of the Adriatic-Ionian Region based on guidelines dictated by the Polytechnic of Milan.
