Mobility. Atm, the first bicycle parking on the subway at the Cordusio station

The restyling with signage and new toilets has been completed. Since 2015, the collections in the city have increased by 30 percent - Photo gallery

Milan, September 29 2021 – The first bicycle parking on the mezzanine of a metro stop opened today at the M1 Cordusio station.
The new cycle station is part of a broader project by ATM and the Municipality of Milan which aims to create an increasingly integrated mobility system, promoting the use of two wheels and public transport for travel .

The opening of the Cordusio M1 bicycle park is only the latest in a series of pieces that make up this plan. Previously, two cycle stations had been opened in Comasina M3 and Abbiategrasso M2, while racks were positioned in the car parks of Lampugnano M1, San Leonardo M1, Bisceglie M1, Molino Dorino M1 and Romolo M2. In the city there are 7.674 racks for 33.640 bike stalls, there were 6.016 in 2015 for 25.955 stalls, with an increase in racks of 30 percent.
Transporting closed folding bicycles and scooters for free is possible both on the subway and on the surface lines, excluding lines 4, 7 and 31, every day of the week and for the entire duration of the service. Naturally, only one vehicle per passenger is allowed.

At the Cordusio station, now equipped with this new service, restyling works were also carried out which involved the installation of a special channel, along the stairs, for the transport of bicycles to the mezzanine, new signage and services toilets, whose renovation work was completed over the summer.

How to access the Cordusio M1 cycle station
Access to the new car park, which can accommodate up to 50 bicycles, is free and is already set up to be reserved for all holders of a valid ATM electronic card, without this necessarily containing a loaded travel document. To enter, soon, simply hold the card close to the special reader installed right on the entrance door of the cycle station.

A special channel has been installed along the stairs of the Cordusio station, marked by ad hoc pictograms, which allows the bicycle to slide comfortably and facilitates its transport.

The bike park is open from 5am to approximately 30am, following the Cordusio station timetable. Bicycles can be left for up to 1 days. Parking is only allowed for traditional bikes, therefore it is forbidden to park electric bikes, scooters and any other type of vehicle.
Finally, we would like to remind you that, as is the case with car parks in metro interchange stations, the car park is unguarded, while the entire station area is under video surveillance.

Still on the subject of sustainable mobility, tomorrow, Thursday 30 September at 12.00, the international law firm Osborne Clarke of Corso di Porta Vittoria 9, will launch a corporate bike sharing service with a fleet of bicycles and e-bikes, participating in the launch of sharing as well as representatives of the law firm, Municipality and Ancma (National Association of Cycle and Motorcycle Accessories).
