Mobility'. New underground car parks in Largo Scalabrini and Brasilia, final project approved
Work will begin in early 2022 on the two structures which will accommodate 532 cars
Milan, September 21 2021 – The definitive project for two underground car parks for residents has been approved, respectively in Largo Scalabrini and Largo Brasilia. The construction works will start in the first months of 2022, in total there will be space for 532 cars.
The areas identified take into account in particular the needs of the residents of the area and the interchange with the public transport network and with the network dedicated to sustainable mobility.
The two structures occupy public areas: the first, in Largo Scalabrini/via degli Zuccaro, has a surface area of 3.580 square meters and will have a total volume of 23.300 cubic meters divided over two underground floors with approximately 216 total parking spaces of which 160 single garages and 26 doubles; it will be equipped with two pedestrian staircases and two elevators. The second structure, in Largo Brasilia / Viale San Gimignano, occupies 5.100 square meters, for a total volume of 33.670 cubic meters, again on two underground floors with 316 parking spaces of which 284 singles and 16 doubles reachable with two pedestrian stairs and two elevators . The construction of the underground structures will also correspond to the arrangement of the surface areas.
In recent months, some locations suitable for the location of underground parking areas had been identified, strategic because they correspond to the mobility needs of the immediate and near future of the city with the aim of helping resident citizens above all not to occupy the area with their cars. public space. With the parking facilities in the structure it is possible to free streets, squares and sidewalks from cars, increasing pedestrian areas, greenery, cycle paths and parking for bicycles.
In addition to these two structures, the underground car park in via Borgogna is under construction and, again during 2022, the underground car park in Repubblica on the east side will also be built, then it will be the turn of the structures on via Manin and Repubblica on the west side for a total of approximately 1.000 underground parking spaces.
