Mobility. Via Melchiorre Gioia, section closed to traffic due to the completion of the Pirellino works

Milan, July 20 2019 - The asbestos remediation operations in the building in via Pirelli 39 are nearing completion.
Since, as per practice for safety reasons, it is necessary that they are carried out within a compartmentalized area, from today the stretch of via Melchiorre Gioia which lies between via Sassetti/Pirelli and viale Liberation. The routes of tourist bus lines, emergency vehicles and public transport are therefore also changing.
"We apologize to the citizens for the inconvenience - intervenes the councilor for Mobility and Public Works Marco Granelli - but the works are necessary and urgent. They will be carried out in several shifts to last as little as possible, while we have chosen the summer period precisely because , being less loaded with traffic, will help to avoid congestion in the area."
The ATM 43 line will be diverted between Via Gioia/Sassetti and Piazza Principessa Clotilde, passing through Viale Monte Santo, Via Galilei, Via Filzi and Via Pirelli. For the ATM N26 line, buses heading towards Centrale Fs deviate from viale don Sturzo to via Gioia, passing through viale della Liberazione, via Filzi and via Pirelli. For the night ATM line NM2, buses divert in both directions passing through the same streets.
The necessary information signs have been positioned, starting from the external ring road, and the preferential road in via Fabio Filzi has been opened in the section corresponding to the closure of via Gioia. Starting from Monday morning, a local police patrol service will facilitate the flow of traffic in the area.
The section affected by the works will be reopened to traffic on 1 September as regards the roadway towards the city centre, and on 9 September also towards the suburbs.
