Milan Summer school. The State University donates 200 liters of Unichina sanitizer to municipal summer centres

Milan, July 8 2020 – The University and the Municipality of Milan together to guarantee the safety of the boys and girls who attend the municipal summer camps.

The state university has in fact donated 200 liters of Unichina to the Municipality, a sanitizing solution produced by the Department of Chemistry and approved by the Ministry of Health. The mixture was distributed by Milano Ristorazione in 10 schools where the summer centers dedicated to primary school children will be open until 7 August: the "Paolo and Larissa Pini" school, the "Vittorio Bottego" school, three pavilions of the Institute including via Giacosa, the “Francesco Crispi” school, the “Stefano and Tommaso Fabbri” school, the “Nolli Arquati” school, the “Bruno Munari” school and the “Bacone” school. The product will be managed by educators and used during the activities to ensure they are carried out in complete safety, to protect the health of users and operators.

“We thank - declares the councilor for Education Laura Galimberti - the State University for the generous donation which will help to guarantee that the activities carried out within the summer centers are in the name of safety and health protection, without any way to compromise the moments of leisure and entertainment that children and young people deserve after having suffered, first and perhaps most of all, the consequences of the spread of the Coronavirus. The collaboration with the city's prestigious university institutions is important and highlights the study and research work that takes place every day in the Milanese laboratories. A job that on this occasion also proves useful for the initiatives that Milan, as per tradition, organizes for its younger fellow citizens."

"The Covid emergency - comments the Rector of the State University Elio Franzini - has mobilized in different ways many of the areas and skills present within the university, underlining the centrality of the contribution of our laboratories and our activities to our territory and to the our fellow citizens. In this context, we are particularly pleased, through the collaboration between our Department of Chemistry and the Department of Education led by Laura Galimberti, to have been able to support the safe resumption of the summer centers of the Municipality of Milan, contributing to a first return to normality for the boys and girls of our city."
