Milan, September 27 2021 - "Carla Fracci lived here from 1945 to 1959 and took her first dance steps, one of the greatest dancers of the twentieth century from the courtyards of Calvairate to the Teatro Alla Scala to stages all over the world".

Thus reads the plaque unveiled this morning in via Ugo Tommei 2 in the presence of representatives of the municipal administration, of the husband of the étoile Maestro Giuseppe Menegatti and of representatives of the cultural association La Loggia di Calvairate.

After the dedication of a white tram on line 1, the same on which the ATM employee father worked, and the honors of the Famedio, the city Pantheon, the Municipality of Milan welcomed the proposal of the cultural association La loggia di Calvairate to remember the dancer who passed away last May 27 with a plaque on the building in via Ugo Tommei 2, where she lived from 1945 to 1959, precisely in the years in which her extraordinary career began, which began in 1946 with her enrollment in the dance school of the Teatro alla Scala, where she would then graduate in 1954.

The proposal had been favorably evaluated by the "Milan is memory" Coordination Committee, committed on behalf of the Administration to preserving and transmitting the meaning and value of memory.
