Milan, May 22 2020 – Two moments will be held tomorrow, Saturday 23 May, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the Capaci massacre, the mafia attack in which judge Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo and the three escort agents Montinaro, Schifani and Dicillo were killed of commemoration.

At 10:30, a.m Palazzo Marino, in the presence of deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo, a banner created by the artist Tv Boy and donated to the Falcone Foundation will be displayed from the balcony on Piazza della Scala, which will remain displayed throughout the day together with a white sheet, symbol of the fight against the mafia. The same work will be exhibited simultaneously at the Municipality of Palermo; while the white sheet will be displayed by all the municipalities that have chosen to join the ANCI proposal.

At 17pm, in front of the plaque in memory of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino (in the gardens of via Benedetto Marcello), a bouquet of flowers from the Administration will be laid in memory of the two magistrates. The moment of contemplation will be accompanied at 45pm by the sound of the siren of a fire brigade vehicle from the nearby Citizens Detachment of the Corps; furthermore, trumpeter Raffaele Kohler will perform some songs.

Present at the commemoration will be the deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo, the President of the City Council Lamberto Bertolé, the President of Municipality 3 Caterina Antola and Lucilla Andreucci of Libera Milano.

The participation of the press is permitted at both times with the necessary compliance with the provisions relating to the coronavirus emergency.
