Strengthening of street patrols and monitoring from the operations center for greater safety, traffic controls and combating illegal commercial and taxi activity - Milan Design week by public transport

Milan, June 6 2022 – The local police has defined an operational plan of total or partial traffic closures which concerns the areas most subjected to traffic also during the Milan Design week 2022, in particular in the hours between 18pm and midnight when the events they are added to the normal activities of city public businesses. An enhancement of monitoring activities by the Operations Center and the patrols present on the streets is also envisaged to ensure safety and road traffic but also the control of illegal commercial activity and taxis.

Between 6 and 12 June there will be three types of road works to allow the 800 events planned in the city center and in the districts of Tortona-Savona, Brera-Garibaldi-Gae Aulenti, Centrale-Ventura, Porta Venezia, 5 vie, Sant 'Ambrogio, Durini, Isola, Porta Romana-Medaglie D'oro, Brolo, Bovisa and Montestella (Alpha district).

Total closure to traffic every day, from 18pm to midnight in the Tortona-Savona district with an hourly extension of the closure on Saturday 24th and Sunday 11th from 12am to midnight.

Targeted closures depending on the schedule of events organized in the districts mentioned concern Via Porta, Bagutta, San Maurilio, Santa Marta, Via Durini, Via Balzaretti (Città studi) where moments of particular influx and the need for traffic restrictions are expected.

The Brera-Garibaldi-Gae Aulenti district will be monitored with particular attention by the Operations Center and by the patrols on site, especially the Solferino, Garibaldi, San Marco and Largo Treves streets also in order to always guarantee fluidity on the Fatebenefratelli-Pontaccio road axis ( presence of the hospital and police headquarters) and public transport on the Broletto-Cusani axis.

Visitors are recommended to always prefer the use of sustainable mobility vehicles, even in sharing; Those who travel between the various events in the city and those who must use their own vehicle are recommended to identify alternative routes to crossing areas with a high density of events. Furthermore, it is always preferable to use public transport which will have extended timetables on some days. We would also like to remind you that the device put in place by the local police to allow the events to take place safely and to try to avoid obstacles to pedestrian passage and traffic in the areas with the greatest influx of visitors coincides with the union ordinance which is in force from today and until 13 am on Monday 2022 June, in the districts affected by Milan Design Week XNUMX. In these areas, itinerant trade in public areas of any shape and size will be prohibited (with the exception of some streets specified in the ordinance) and The administration of food and drinks in glass bottles and cans will not be permitted.
