Milan-Cortina 2026. The Municipality among the founders of the Organizing Committee of the Winter Olympics

The Foundation will be based in Milan. The resolution is being examined by the City Council for final approval 
 
Milan, November 29 2019 – “Milano-Cortina 2026” is the official name of the organizing committee of the Winter Olympics, which will have the legal form of a Foundation based in Milan and will be composed of the Municipality of Milan, the Municipality of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Lombardy Region, by the Veneto Region, by the C.O.N.I. and by the C.I.P.
 
The purpose of the Foundation will be to "take care of the organization and conduct of the XXV Olympic Winter Games 2026 and the Paralympic Games, in implementation and in compliance with the provisions contained in the Olympic Charter, in the IOC Code of Ethics. and in the Agreement signed in Lausanne on 24 June 2019".
 
This is what is foreseen by the resolution with which the Administration decided to participate in the Organizing Committee as a founder and which will now be examined by the City Council for definitive approval.

To achieve its purpose, the Foundation will carry out all management, organisation, promotion and communication activities of sporting and institutional events relating to the holding of the Games. Its bodies are the Board of Directors, the Management Committee, the Board of Auditors, the Statutory Auditor.
 
The Foundation will be dissolved with the approval of the financial statements on 31 December 2026, following the conclusion of the XXV Olympic Winter Games in 2026 and the Paralympic Games.
