Milan Art week. From 13 to 19 September a calendar of events dedicated to modern and contemporary art accompanies Miart

Milan, July 7 2021 - The municipality of Milan|Culture returns to accompany Miart with a program that for an entire week, from 13 to 19 September, will offer exhibitions and performances, extending to the entire city and involving institutions, foundations, public and private entities in the construction of a rich calendar of dedicated initiatives to modern and contemporary art.

The program, still in progress (the definitive calendar will be presented later), indicates how the Milan Art week is aimed at the many different audiences who live in or visit Milan.

In the meantime, some important events dedicated to contemporary art have already been confirmed: during the week it will be possible to visit the exhibition of "Luisa Lambri. Self-portrait" at the Pavilion of Contemporary Art (PAC), the solo exhibition of "Anna Maria Borsari. From some uncertain points" at the Museo del Novecento, the Fondazione Furla project "Misfits" by Nairy Baghramian at GAM, "Neil Beloufa. Digital Mourning" and "Maurizio Cattelan. Breath Ghosts Blind" at Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, "A breeze over the Mediteranean " at the ICA Milan Foundation, "Who the bear" at the Prada Foundation; "Claudio Destito. The Strait of Messina" at the Francesco Messina Studio museum; "Carlo Mollino. Personal allusions" in Triennale Milano; "Crazy people inhabit the sacred" at the Stelline Foundation. The Pomodoro Foundation presents "Project room #14. Rose in hand", by Nevine Mahmoud and Margherita Raso with Derek MF Di Fabio; the Pini Foundation presents "Elisabetta Benassi. Lady and gentlemen"; at the Gallerie d'Italia, next to "Painting is back", dedicated to the painting of the 80s, "Further degrees of freedom in the city that resists. Francesca Leone" opens.

There are also many photographic exhibitions: from "Sturm&drang" at the Prada Foundation Observatory to "Tina Modotti. Women, Mexico and freedom" at the MUDEC Museum of Cultures; from "Jacques Henri Lartigue. The invention of happiness" at the Diocesan Museum to "Home less home. Photography by Paola Di Bello" at the Casa della memoria.

Initiatives dedicated to modern art are instead scheduled at Palazzo Reale, with the large Claude Monet exhibition, created in collaboration with the Marmottan Museum in Paris, which opens during the Milan Art week; at the Museo del Novecento with the great retrospective on "Mario Sironi. Synthesis and grandeur"; the exhibition "Somaini in America" ​​inaugurates the spaces of the Francesco Somaini Scultore Foundation.

Also scheduled for 2021 is the extraordinary opening of some non-profit spaces spread across the city.
