Milan 2022, the City signs the pact for work

On 28 and 29 April, two days of discussion and in-depth analysis on the hottest issues of work with international politicians and protagonists of the trade union, entrepreneurial and national and local administrative world

Milan, 21 April 2022 – Thursday 28 April at Palazzo Reale (Congress Hall) and Friday 29 April at Palazzo Marino (Sala Alessi) will take place the two days of debates, round tables and testimonies organized by the Municipality of Milan and dedicated to the hottest topics of work: safety, relaunching employment and new ways of working such as smartworking, coworking and nearworking.

It will be a great opportunity for discussion, also at an international level thanks to listening to the experiences of Barcelona and Paris which will culminate, on Friday 29 April in the afternoon, with the signing of the Milan Labor Pact, an alliance between the Municipality of Milan and eight protagonists involved in the city's employment processes, namely CGIL, CISL, UIL, Chamber of Commerce, Confcommercio, Assolombarda, AFOL and Metropolitan City of Milan.

A Pact, therefore, not a simple act, which will see the activation of a series of concrete measures which will have the aim of bringing Milan back to the levels of the major European productive cities in terms of employment, economic growth, talent development but also protection of rights and hybrid working methods projected towards the future.

Below is the programme:

28 April, Royal Palace, Conference Room

Morning

  • 9 am: Milan, city of Europe. Dialogue between Milan, Paris and Barcelona on policies, models and strategies introduced in large European cities for the relaunch of employment and for the development of innovative work formulas;
  • 10 am: Milan, city of relaunch. A highly topical debate on the rights and protections of new workers on delivery and e-commerce platforms such as riders, logistics workers, warehouse workers, couriers.
  • 11 am: Milan, city of good work: protection, legality and safety. On the occasion of the "World Day for Health and Safety at Work" a discussion on the most effective measures for the prevention and protection of workers' safety in the exercise of their duties;

Afternoon

  • 14pm: Milan, city of relaunching: reskilling and upskilling. A moment of discussion dedicated to policies for the inclusion in the world of work of people who have, or who have had, disadvantages and fragilities;
  • 16pm: Rethinking work: new organizational methods. Smartworking, coworking, nearworking: how work and the city are changing with the new delocalisation formulas developed following the pandemic.

29 April, Palazzo Marino, Alessi Room

Morning

  • 10am-13pm: Milan, city of opportunities. On the stage of the Sala Alessi there will be 15 protagonists from the world of start-ups, universities, business, international events, excellent catering, but also from the digital transition and the new paradigms of work 4.0, outlining the current scenarios and futures of professions in Milan.

Afternoon

  • from 15 pm: Signing of the Milan Employment Pact

The Municipality of Milan officially signs the new Labor Pact for Milan with CGIL Milan and the Metropolitan Chamber of Labor, CISL Metropolitan Milan, UIL Milan Lombardy, Chamber of Commerce Milan, Monza, Brianza and Lodi, Confcommercio Milan, Lodi, Monza and Brianza , Assolombarda, metropolitan AFOL and metropolitan city of Milan.
