Milan, 7 December 2021 – In anticipation of the snowfall that is expected to occur on Wednesday 8 December, the Municipality of Milan has decided to activate the Municipal Operations Center (COC) starting from 6 am tomorrow morning.

Already established today - during a new operational meeting attended by the Departments and Directorates of the Environment, Security, Local Police and Civil Protection, Education, Housing, Mobility, as well as AMSA, ATM, MM - the interventions that will take place tomorrow, starting from the early hours of the morning with the spreading of salt, both mechanized and manual, on the roads and in critical points for mobility, including pedestrian mobility, such as surface and underground ATM stops, accesses to schools, to health services, the areas of uncovered markets.

MM has already alerted the caretakers of public housing and the companies to salt the garage ramps and facing sidewalks.

School directors have also been notified regarding the salting of access to school facilities.

Please remember that, as far as private buildings are concerned, clearing snow from the pavements in front is the responsibility of the owners themselves.

For reports relating to the snow emergency, such as the cleaning of roads and pavements under public responsibility, the removal of damaged or unsafe branches or plants, citizens can write to the address protectioncivile@comune.milano.it.

It is recommended to limit the use of cars as much as possible and to prefer public transport for getting around the city.
