Milan, March 31 2023 – Work has begun at the municipal covered market in via Rombon, in the Lambrate area, which will be the subject of a complete renovation by Sogemi. The project falls within the scope of the relaunch plan for the covered municipal markets carried out by the municipal administration in recent years, with the aim of revitalizing, modernizing and re-evaluating these spaces to make them increasingly a local, efficient, modern and close to citizens and towns.

After the redevelopment of the covered markets of Zara-Isola, Santa Maria del Suffragio, Lorenteggio, Wagner, Morsenchio, Rombon will also have a new life: in over 1.300 m2 in the area there will be multifunctional spaces dedicated to the retail sale of fresh and very fresh products, to the supply of drinks and food, as well as areas designed to host socio-cultural initiatives for the neighborhood which will also focus on food education issues, sustainability and circularity. The external area surrounding the market will also be renovated with new greenery and a children's play area.

The timetable includes approximately three months of work for the removal of the environmental liabilities present in the building to continue with the functional adaptation interventions and the launch of the commercialization plan for the spaces. Overall, the works will last approximately 15 months until the new "Foody Rombon - Neighborhood Market" opens to the public in 2024, the first covered municipal market entrusted to Sogemi with a twenty-year concession.
