Milan, February 28 2021 - About twenty seats of various sizes in front of two commemorative glass steles bearing quotes by Piero Calamandrei on the Italian Resistance.
This is how the Loggia dei Mercanti will be transformed according to the "Milan for the Resistance" project, donated to the Municipality by the Anpi - Provincial Committee of Milan and signed by the Stefano Boeri Architetti Studio.
With a resolution of the Council and as part of the commitment carried out with the Milano è Memoria platform, the Administration accepted the donation, which defines a journey that began in 2014 with the installation of a first stele in the Loggia.
The second part of the project includes 2 commemorative steles in laminated glass and a ballasted base measuring 160 x 40 centimetres, on which two phrases by Calamandrei will be inserted: "You will have the monument you demand from us Italians in the Kesselring room, but with which stone it will be built it is up to you to decide it's our turn" and "On these roads if you want to return to our places you will find us dead and alive with the same commitment of people gathered around the monument that is now and always called RESISTANCE".
The 20 gneiss seats of different sizes - 40x40x40, 40x40x60 and 40x40x80 centimeters - will be placed in front of the two steles.
