Bad weather. Five nursery schools closed due to heavy infiltration
Milan, October 21 2019 – Due to heavy rain last night, major infiltrations occurred in some schools in Milan.
In particular, there are five nursery schools that did not open this morning: Adriano (4 sections) and Fortis (5 sections) in Municipality 2, Cesari (7 sections) in Municipality 9, Meleri (5 sections) in Municipality 4 and Porec (5 sections) in Municipality 6. Two out of five sections also closed in the Anemoni nursery school in Municipality 6.
“We are investigating the causes of the individual situations, taking into account that in the event of intense rainfall like that of this night, with large volumes of water in a short time, it may happen that the gutters and downspouts are unable to drain all the water correctly – comments the Education Councilor with responsibility for School Buildings Laura Galimberti –. We will intervene as soon as possible, both through the companies and with our technicians, to also restore the internal conditions, so as to allow the children to return as soon as possible."
