The Coc for monitoring levels remains active

Milan, October 21 2019 - The orange alert already issued yesterday was confirmed a short while ago by the functional natural risk monitoring center of the Lombardy Region. For this reason, the Municipal Operations Center (C.O.C.) remains active in order to monitor the levels of the Seveso and Lambro rivers until the early hours of tomorrow morning when the situation should gradually return to normal. In fact, after a short break in these hours, a new intensification of precipitation is expected during today, starting from the afternoon and throughout the night.

The weather alert involves constant monitoring of the levels of the Seveso and Lambro rivers and the activation of Civil Protection teams and local police patrols. The MM Water Service team will also be ready to intervene if necessary.

We remind you that to stay updated on hydrogeological risk alerts, the Administration has developed a free and fast online service with which citizens can be quickly notified of the alerts issued by the Lombardy Region (yellow, orange or red code for hydraulic risk or strong storms) , on the achievement of the warning and flood thresholds of the Seveso torrent and the Lambro river, on the return to normality of the situation and on the behavior to be adopted in these cases. The objective is to simultaneously and promptly notify all those who may be interested, a few hours in advance in the event of a weather alert and when the critical event is approaching, i.e. when the criticality thresholds of the Seveso and Lambro are exceeded . These communication methods will now be added to the information distributed through the press, social media and through the Civil Protection teams.

This alert system involves online registration in which the user can report one or more addresses of interest (from home, to work, to their children's school) to be notified in the event of problems in an area they frequent. habitually. By entering the email address or telephone number in the registration you have the possibility of activating various communication channels: emails, recorded telephone calls which are activated based on the type and level of criticality and based on the addresses of interest registered by the 'user.

The Milan Civil Protection Alert System is a free information service.
