The intervention at the Dateo station construction site. Bus route 54 will also return to its original route

Milan, 21 December 2019 – In the last weekend of January traffic will return in both directions in Corso Plebisciti, near the construction site of the Dateo station of the new Milan metro. This was decided by the Municipality, in agreement with the concessionaire company M4 and the consortia of the CMM4 and Metro Blu manufacturers.

“It is good and important news – declares Marco Granelli, councilor for Mobility – because the reduction of the construction site area gives back space to citizens and commercial businesses, improves traffic and represents a tangible sign of how we have entered the final phase of the works for the new metro which will open the first section, from Linate to Forlanini Fs, in just over a year. In fact, I remember that other construction sites have already reduced the occupation of surface spaces to the benefit of citizens".

Corso Plebisciti had been closed to traffic in both directions - from the corner with Viale dei Mille to the corner with Via Ceradini - due to the need to have an adequate construction site area for the construction of the M4 Dateo station. Today the advanced state of the works allows for a significant reduction in the construction site area.

Starting from the end of January it will therefore be possible to access Corso Plebisciti from via Francesco Nullo, which will return to being one-way as originally; Via Giulio Ceradini will also return to its original traffic, one-way in the direction of Via Carlo Goldoni.

As regards public transport, bus line 54 will return to its original route along Corso Plebisciti, while line 61 will be maintained on its current route for a more widespread service for the neighbourhood.
