M4. 550.000 euros are arriving to support traders penalized by the construction sites of the new metro line

Milan, 14 December 2021 – The Municipality of Milan confirms its support for traders damaged by the proximity to the construction sites of metro line 4 under construction from Linate to San Cristoforo. The contributions will be in part current, granted in a graduated and differentiated way, giving priority to commercial establishments with windows on the street that are particularly penalized and unable to enjoy, precisely because of their location, the measures provided for by the Relaunch Decree.

"The works on the M4 and the restrictions on commercial activities due to the pandemic – explain the councilors for Economic Development, Alessia Cappello and Budget Emmanuel Conte – have put dozens of merchants to the test, starting from those who, with shops facing the street, do not was able to take advantage of other benefits, for example by expanding the occupation of public land outside the shop for free. We have foreseen contributions of between 8 thousand and 15 thousand euros which can be accessed by participating in the public notice which will be online within the next week." .

The measure to support businesses with shops near the M4 construction sites was adopted for the first time in 2016. Renewed for all subsequent years, it allowed 276 businesses to be helped for a total amount of 5,9 million euros.
