Tajani: “A small free service that can be useful to contribute to the continuity of commercial activities in this moment of emergency”

Milan, March 23 2020 – Help the greatest number of companies and activities already suffering due to the presence of M4 construction sites, which is now added to the CoViD-19 emergency. This is the objective of the offices of the Directorate of Commerce of the Municipality of Milan which, starting today, Monday 23 March, will make themselves available with online and telephone consultations to help all those traders who have not yet forwarded the accounting documents necessary for the disbursement of funds to support the activities affected by the works for the new Milan metro. The objective is to liquidate the 2019 funds as soon as possible to address, in the coming months, at the end of the health emergency, an overall strategy to support city commerce.

The email address apro.bandicontributi@comune.milano.it is available to traders. If further clarification is needed, companies can indicate their telephone number to be called back.

“With this small consultancy service, provided free of charge by the municipal Commerce offices, we intend to work to liquidate as soon as possible the funds allocated to them in the 4 budget to the commercial, craft and service activities affected by the presence of the M2019 construction sites - explains the councilor to Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Trade Cristina Tajani -. We try to make the resources and contributions accessible to all the companies that participated in the tender because we understand how, today more than ever, any liquidity support is essential. It is clear that starting from the next few months it will be necessary, also in conjunction with the measures adopted by the Government, to imagine an overall strategy to relaunch economic activities, with particular attention to trade".

The tender closed last December was aimed at 241 companies along the entire M4 route (78 companies considered to have a "very high impact" and 163 to a high impact) and made an economic contribution of 820 thousand euros available to operators to cover expenses such as: rent, utilities, local taxes, mortgage/leasing instalments, personnel costs, etc. Contributions that can reach a maximum of 10 thousand euros for companies judged to have "very high impact" and 3 thousand euros for those with "high impact".

To date, however, out of 143 applications submitted, only 49 companies have completed their application with all the required documents. Precisely in order not to exclude applications that are still incomplete from accessing the funds, the municipal offices will make themselves available to individual traders, through online or telephone consultations, to remedy the position by submitting the missing documents for access to the contributions.

For the 49 applications already completed, the funds will be disbursed starting next April.

To date, there are 275 companies, along the entire stretch of the new M4, which in recent years have had access to 9 million euros in total contributions made available to the Administration through 8 tenders that have followed one another from 2016 to today.
