Illuminations. From the Municipality 75 thousand euros of contributions to light up the decentralized neighborhoods of the city

Tajani: “A small sign that can be useful to demonstrate the city's desire to react and its commercial fabric, especially in the suburbs”

Milan, November 8 2020 – Milan wants to light up with lights, colors and hope despite the Covid emergency. For this reason, the guidelines for the assignment of contributions aimed at creating lights and decorations in the streets and commercial streets of the city for the upcoming Christmas holidays have been approved.
“The Administration – explains the Councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Commerce, Cristina Tajani – wants to support all those entities such as street and trade associations and shopkeepers' committees which, despite the current and difficult economic context dictated of the Covid emergency, they want to keep our streets alive. The lights are a sign of light and hope, useful for strengthening the deep bond between the commercial fabric of the city and its inhabitants, encouraging the support and participation from below of associations and committees whose work, especially at this moment, is fundamental to keep alive many neighborhoods outside the city center"
Specifically, the Administration makes available a total contribution of 75 thousand euros (maximum 3 thousand euros for each individual project) in favor of street associations, trade associations, institutions and neighborhood committees which, in this period marked by the emergency Covid, they want and are able to design and implement with their own resources, without resorting to sponsors, Christmas decorations and light installations, along the streets and commercial axes, especially in the decentralized neighborhoods of the city.
The lights can be set up starting from November 1st and the switch-on period is scheduled from November 21st to January 10th 2021. The dismantling of the structures must take place by January 31st by the proponents.
All the information for the presentation of the lighting projects will be present, in the coming weeks, in the notices and tenders section of the site www.comune.milano.it
