Work. From the Ambrosiano Welfare Foundation "Active Match", a new support opportunity for freelancers and self-employed workers

Milan, 21 April 2020 – Ambrosiano Welfare Foundation increasingly attentive to supporting the numerous professionals and independent workers who work with the VAT number. In the city in September, 136.323 new VAT numbers were registered, with an increase of 3,9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Independent workers of all age groups and active in almost all market sectors who make up the so-called freelancers - journalists, photographers, graphic designers, designers, architects, artists but also software developers, plumbers, gardeners, professionals. A multifaceted population that shares a challenge, that of having to face a market like never before in this difficult moment.

To help these independent workers face this challenge, which is played out both in the field of skills and in that of the necessary technologies and tools, the Welfare Foundation has created Active Partita, the contribution which aims to facilitate professional updating and support the tangible and intangible investments of those who want to start or develop their own business through training and professional development, specialization courses and certifications, but also equipment, machinery and advanced information technologies.

“This measure aims at the professional and technical growth of VAT registered workers, hard hit by the CoViD-19 crisis - comments the councilor for employment policies, productive activities and trade Cristina Tajani -. As an Administration we are convinced that the many self-employed workers in our city represent a fundamental reserve of creativity and innovation that makes the difference particularly in moments, like this, of necessary transformation. If it will be inevitable for many to rethink their work and their objectives, Partita Attiva wants to try to give life to this effort, helping investments in training, organizational innovation and technological instrumentation”.

In practice, the Welfare Foundation will evaluate the project of each freelancer and independent worker and, having ascertained the validity and solidity of the proposal, will guarantee access to credit at Permicro to make it possible to provide a subsidized loan up to a maximum amount of 15.000 EUR. Foundation will also support the candidate with mentoring activities to ensure that all efforts are successful. Active match is the result of a joint effort which saw the collaboration of the Ambrosiano Welfare Foundation with PerMicro.

“The idea of proposing this new tool was born before the Coronavirus turned our lives upside down but now more than ever we are certain that Active Match represents an important opportunity that adds to the other measures adopted by the Institutions, such as the recent Decree Liquid assets. This proposal of ours aims to be a concrete and customizable response to the needs of an increasingly large population of workers who wish to return to the field, capitalizing on their skills and abilities. For the Foundation it is the strengthening of a commitment and the confirmation of a mission, which is to facilitate the restart of an increasingly wider range of citizens", declares Romano Guerinoni General Director of the Welfare Foundation

“Thanks to the Active Partita project – says Benigno Imbriano, CEO of Permicro – we will be able to serve a new group of workers: the self-employed and those with VAT numbers. These profiles of entrepreneurs have a growing need for financial inclusion: our microcredit, guaranteed by FWA, will respond to these needs, to support the growth of business projects and the development of the Lombardy region."
