Milan, August 26 2019 – Nominate an innovation project to be developed in some non-central neighborhoods of the city. The deadline to participate in "Fabriq Quarto 14 - Neighborhood Innovations" will expire on October 2019th, the call created by the Municipality of Milan which will make 360 ​​thousand euros available for eight new innovation projects that improve the life of the Quarto neighborhoods Oggiaro, Villa Pizzone, Bovisa, Bovisasca, Comasina, Niguarda, Affori, Bruzzano and Dergano: realities characterized by problems of social fragility but also by the presence of important public infrastructures (hospitals, universities etc.) which can represent the starting point for interesting opportunities for new businesses.

“In recent years, thanks to the action of FabriQ, we have managed to grow over 60 startups that have entered the market thanks to their innovative ideas, services and products capable of matching economic growth with the social needs of the territories in which they are located settle - declares the councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Commerce Cristina Tajani -. With these new funds the Administration once again proves itself to be at the side of young people who are looking for an opportunity for their professional growth by combining entrepreneurship and social and environmental sustainability".

Through the "Fabriq Quarto 2019" tender, the selected companies will be able to access a contribution of up to a maximum of 35 thousand euros to cover 50% of the project implementation costs according to a co-investment logic of "one public Euro for every private Euro".

The contribution could rise up to 45.500 euros if the projects manage to achieve a series of social impact objectives defined by the Municipality of Milan. 

Each selected reality, in addition to its own space within FabriQ, the first incubator specifically dedicated to social innovation in the Municipality of Milan, in via Val Trompia in Quarto Oggiaro, will be able to count on a personalized support program lasting 4 months and help in meeting potential investors. The areas of intervention are the most varied, personal services, environment, manufacturing 4.0, circular economy and Smart city. All business projects must have a high rate of innovation as well as generating a demonstrable social impact on the neighborhood (improving liveability and the quality of services) as well as committing to continuing their activities in the area even after the end of the financed period. 
All companies that have been established for a maximum of 5 years can participate in the call, as well as those that undertake to form a legal entity after passing the selection process. The invitation to experiment is also extended to companies coming from abroad, without prejudice to the need for all these companies to be registered with the Milan Chamber of Commerce and have an operational headquarters in the city area.

FabriQ is the first incubator specifically dedicated to social innovation in the Municipality of Milan, born in 2014 from the collaboration between the Administration, the Giacomo Brodolini Foundation and Impact Hub Milan. With its 650 m62 FabriQ is the place to transform ideas into employment, growth, social development and put them online, connecting anyone who wants to do business on social, environmental, cultural and technological issues. A reality that in recent years has seen the birth of 7 start-ups capable of raising over XNUMX million euros between prizes and private funding. 
Among these are some successful cases such as the GO VOLT scooter sharing service, the UGO accompanying service for the elderly, the DRIVE IN BOVISA project and many others.
