Public Works. Trenno district, the redevelopment of Piazza Scolari and Via Gorlini begins

Milan, 13 December 2020 - Tomorrow, Monday 14 December, work will begin on the redevelopment of Piazza Scolari and Via Gorlini in the Trenno district.

The works concern the expansion and construction of the sidewalk in via Gorlini, the positioning of two ATM stops, the redevelopment of the square with a different parking layout and the overcoming of architectural barriers through the placement of adequate slides and towers to provide greater accessibility and road safety.

Piazza Scolari and the adjacent Via Gorlini are a central area of the neighborhood with greenery, the monument, nearby shops, the pharmacy, access to the church, the bus stop.

“These works make a contribution to accessibility, road safety and a reduction in speed - declares Marco Granelli, councilor for Mobility and Public Works - in a location that already today represents a point of reference for the Trenno district. With this construction site, our work of redeveloping neighborhood squares in the city continues. The project was presented to citizens during a public meeting organized by Municipality 8 at the end of September. A project much awaited by citizens, requested by the Municipality and associations to overcome the architectural barriers that prevent full accessibility to the neighborhood".

The works are carried out to offset the costs of a building project overlooking the square. It is expected that they will continue, except for the break between 20 December and 9 January for the holidays, until the end of January 2021. Asphalting, however, requires higher temperatures for optimal installation and will therefore be postponed for a few weeks to avoid frost .
