Public Works. Fulvio Testi, work for the maintenance of the manholes will start tomorrow

Interventions to strengthen and make the rainwater collection network more efficient

Milan, November 15 2020 – Tomorrow, Monday 16 November, in viale Fulvio Testi, at the intersection with via Pianell, work will begin on the extraordinary maintenance site for road manholes. The technical roads area of the Municipality in collaboration with MM will carry out a significant intervention that will be able to strengthen and make the rainwater collection network more efficient.

"The increasingly frequent heavy rains due to climate change make it necessary to strengthen and improve the rainwater collection network: many times during emergencies we have encountered unusual flooding - declares Marco Granelli councilor for public works -. Thanks to the coordination between the departments and the competent sectors, we work to equip the city with increasingly adequate networks, to be ready to intervene and prevent emergencies as much as possible”.

With the maintenance intervention, we will proceed with the construction of four new collection lines converging on via Pianell, independent of each other, along the Fulvio Testi service roads. The lines will then be connected to the public sewer system with interventions carried out by MM. The works around the Testi - Pianell intersection will last between two and three months and planning is already underway for a similar intervention for the Testi - S. Marcellina intersection.

These works are part of two specific contracts dedicated to road manhole covers for a value of four million euros. Work needed to address the consequences of climate change and improve life in neighborhoods.
