Milan, September 25 2020 – The official naming ceremony of the garden in Piazza Piola took place today in the presence of the Councilor for Culture Filippo Del Corno, the President of Municipality 3 Caterina Antola and Livia Pomodoro, President of the “Spazio Teatro No'hma Teresa Pomodoro”. to Teresa Pomodoro.

Actress, director, playwright, Teresa Pomodoro was the founder in 1994 of the No'hma Theater, which since 2000 has been based in via Orcagna 2 in the heart of Municipality 3, a few steps from the garden dedicated to her.

During the ceremony, the redevelopment project of the garden of Piazza Piola and the square of the same name was announced, conceived and offered to the city by the "Spazio Teatro No'hma Teresa Pomodoro" directed by Livia Pomodoro: twenty-one cherry trees interspersed with eleven benches and an area pedestrian area with a drop-shaped flooring to recall the lightness of water, and finally a toad conversing with another toad. An installation that looks like a theatrical scenography, capable of representing an open-air theatre.

The redevelopment of the square will be carried out through a collaboration contract as part of the "Care and adopt public green areas" project and will be completed with the installation of a sculpture. Just today the Council accepted the donation, again by "Spazio Teatro NO'HMA Teresa Pomodoro", of a monument composed of five cylindrical steps of different heights on which the works of Kengiro Azuma will be placed: "Colloquio", the sculpture made up of two bronze toads, and the “MU – 765 Goccia”.
