Together for Ukraine. 020205, the infoline financed by Shevchenko is operational from today

Milan, May 16 2022 – An infoline in Ukrainian to support refugees who have fled the war, provide information and map their needs to then build the most appropriate responses. With the activation of the telephone switchboard, "Together for Ukraine" enters its operational phase, the project created by the ISMU Foundation, Codici and Progetto Integrazione, in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, and financed by Andrij Shevchenko through a donation to #MilanoAiutaUkraine Fund, set up by the Milan Community Foundation on the initiative of the Municipality, with the aim of collecting donations to support projects to help and welcome the Ukrainian population who have arrived in the city.

The toll-free number 020205 will be operational starting today with native speaking operators who, from 9am to 18pm, from Monday to Friday, will provide listening and orientation integrated with the services of the Municipality of Milan and the territorial networks.

The operators will work on three stations with the aim of collecting requests and creating a mapping of needs which will allow, in the coming weeks and throughout the summer, to direct the available resources more profitably by organizing activities aimed at responding to needs emerged.

The infoline was created to encourage better inclusion of new arrivals in the city fabric and to promote integration from which the Ukrainian and host communities can benefit. For this reason, operators will be able to support refugees in registering for childcare and school services, but also to provide guidance on the procedures for requesting and obtaining a residence permit or regularizing one's position in Italy. Furthermore, if necessary, it will be possible to carry out face-to-face interviews by appointment.

The hope is that the infoline can also be useful for intercepting families and unaccompanied minors who have arrived in the city informally and not reported to the competent authorities, in order to direct them towards the services and opportunities offered by the Milan system.

The infoline was financed by Shevchenko with 60.000 euros. The contribution of the Ukrainian champion will continue and strengthen, integrating within the municipal system of initiatives for the Ukrainian emergency, in light of what will emerge during the listening activities.
