Innovation. Municipality and Chamber of Commerce together for the diffusion of digital services

SPID and digital signature available in the registered offices and certificates downloadable in via Meravigli. Cocco: “A synergy to accelerate the digital transformation of the city”. The request for extracts is available on the portal

Milan, October 28 2019 – Municipality of Milan and Chamber of Commerce of Milan Monza Brianza together to accelerate the digital transformation of the city. The Administration has approved a collaboration agreement between the two bodies for the dissemination of digital services and citizen identification and digital signature tools.

The agreement arises from the desire of the municipal administration to provide citizens with more and more possibilities to request registry certificates, through the presence of territorial offices alongside the 15 registry offices and the citizen's file which allows the request and release online through the institutional portal.

The collaboration will also allow the operators of the registry offices to issue credentials to access SPID - the digital identity system of the Public Administration - and the activation of the digital signature, thanks to the training of the Chamber of Commerce, already a provider of these services.

“A synergy that reflects the desire of the Municipality of Milan and the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, Monza and Brianza to disseminate the digital services available to citizens in a widespread manner – comments councilor Roberta Cocco (Digital Transformation and Civic Services) -. It is the first important step towards the common objective of establishing 'Digital Citizen Points' in the area, physical branches where citizens can freely access the online services of both entities and choose whether to operate independently or request the help of an operator. ”.

"The Chamber of Commerce has always been committed to a process of simplification in favor of businesses - now integrated with a strong stimulus action for an increasingly 4.0 economy - declared Alvise Biffi, board member of the Milan Monza Chamber of Commerce Brianza Lodi - The digital signature, the SPID, the digital drawer, are the latest tools implemented in this direction. This new agreement with the Municipality of Milan is a further step towards the creation of administrative points of single access, possible for the interoperability of data platforms, thanks to which it is possible to speed up and simplify administrative obligations for businesses and citizens. A synergy that characterizes Milan and makes it a point of reference for digital services".

Alongside this new project, another important piece is included in the overall digital transformation plan that the municipal administration is carrying out. In fact, an online form is available on the portal of the Municipality of Milan - for residents and non-residents - to receive extracts and complete records - including multilingual ones - of births, deaths and deaths via email.

The extracts, unlike the certificates, contain additional information (in the case of birth, for example, they indicate the time and paternity and maternity and marriages, divorces, death, statuses relating to the acquisition/loss of citizenship).

“As with the online request – comments Cocco – we also started in the experimental phase for this new service. Today, three weeks after the start, we have already received 684 requests and we have processed 405 of them, which translates into fewer queues at the counters: before the digitalisation of the request, the extracts and complete documents brought around 150 people per day to the registry offices, today we dropped to around 30/40 daily accesses and without even having communicated the news to the citizens because we wanted to test its potential first."
