INNOVATION. NOTICE OPEN FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF 'SMART CITY LAB'     The new space of the Municipality in via Ripamonti 88 will become an urban innovation laboratory and the first incubator dedicated to startups operating in the "Smart city" field  Call    Milan, March 12 2023 - The Municipality of Milan is looking for a manager for the Smart City Lab, the new innovation space in via Ripamonti 88 dedicated to businesses and technologies for the intelligent and sustainable city: the tender for the concession of use is open until 10 May , for consideration, of the space.    The spaces  Located in the southern area of ​​Milan, a short distance from the Scalo Romana where the new Olympic Village will be built, Smart City Lab covers an area of ​​over 4 thousand square metres, of which 1.600 are covered surfaces and the remainder are external areas, including greenery, square and parking. Inside there are coworking spaces, conference rooms, training rooms, offices for startups and incubation services and a café open to the public. Finally, the roof garden will be used as a space for socialising, sharing and as an event area.      The property has cutting-edge structural and technological characteristics with low environmental impact, with a geothermal heating and cooling system, photovoltaic system and a tank for rainwater recovery.    Smart City Lab is the result of the collaboration between the Municipality of Milan, Invitalia and the Ministry for Economic Development which financed the project with a contribution of 5 million euros.     The goals   Smart City Lab will host an urban innovation laboratory, as well as the first startup incubator in Italy dedicated to innovative companies operating in the field of smart and sustainable cities. More generally, the Smart City Lab will have to contribute to the growth of Milan also in the international context for the exchange of knowledge, knowledge and good practices, with particular attention to solutions relating to environmental sustainability, in synergy with the Administration's policies.      “With the award announcement we are about to reach the last stage of the path that led to the creation of Smart City Lab: a first step to make Milan compete with other European cities on the innovation front in terms of smart cities. Having structures like this will allow us to build new synergies between public and private to interpret new needs of the city and therefore concretely develop new solutions and technologies that make Milan more sustainable, livable, efficient - comments the councilor for Work and Economic Development Alessia Cappello -. Thanks to its spaces open to the city and sharing, Smart City Lab will become a new point of reference for the area and for Milan".     The award will take place through a tender in which individuals with many years of expertise and experience in the field of technologies and innovation for the smart city and services and activities in support of innovative startups can apply.
