Digital procedure for the Siad, Social Policies and Culture directorates. Cocco: “A sustainable project to facilitate associations, companies and citizens and simplify internal processes”

Milan, 8 December 2020 – First digital sponsorship approved by the municipal council. The initiative "The Schools Challenge 2020/2021", promoted by the JP Morgan Foundation and created by the Junior Achievement association, is the forerunner of a new method of requesting patronage from the Municipality of Milan which, in the wake of innovation, will allow some directions to receive requests and log them directly online.

“This is an important digital achievement – comments the councilor for Digital Transformation and Civic Services Roberta Cocco – because it embodies the value of technology applied to Public Administration. On the one hand, in fact, it allows us to simplify internal processes and improve relationships with companies, associations and citizens who, thanks to this new procedure, can make requests more easily; on the other, it pursues an objective of sustainability, in economic, environmental and time terms".

Three directorates took part in the first phase of release of the online mode: Information Systems, which implemented the project in synergy with the General Secretariat, Social Policies and Culture, the two directorates which annually receive the greatest quantity of requests for patronage. Each direction has an active dedicated path for the assisted compilation of the patronage, the recognition through which the municipal administration expresses its symbolic adhesion to an initiative deemed worthy. The entire process is managed online, from the request to the acceptance of the application. The first phase will be followed by a progressive widening of the audience until all directions are reached.

During 2020, also due to the health emergency, 379 sponsorships were granted and approved, while in 2019 there were 1.137 and in 2018, 1.145. In addition to the Social Policies and Culture Directorate, the main proponents are the Sport, Economy and Work and Education directorates.
