Milan, May 31 2021 – A meeting was held this morning between the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Milan Anna Scavuzzo and a delegation from Sermig of Turin, which this year was the social partner of the Giro d'Italia with the "3.479 kilometers of hope" project.

Sermig volunteers were present in all the cities touched by the cycling race to bring a message of solidarity and commitment to peace, especially to the youngest. A message that will also be transformed into a solidarity project for children and young people in Italy and around the world to support sports activities organized by Sermig in the three arsenals of peace in Turin, Sao Paulo in Brazil and Madaba in Jordan.

During the meeting, the "Letter to conscience", a manifesto of Sermig's civil commitment, was delivered to deputy mayor Scavuzzo, as well as to all the representatives of civil society and institutions met in recent weeks by the delegation. A commitment well represented by the Arsenale della pace of Turin, the old weapons factory from the wars of the Risorgimento and the world wars, transformed by the free work of thousands of young people and adults into a home at the service of life and peace.
