Councilor Conte: "Let's make the most of the potential of the monumental complex"

Milan, August 12 2023 - The Municipality of Milan, as part of the valorisation process of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, has opened two new public tenders for the concession of spaces in the monumental complex.
 
The first tender concerns two shops, in the building between Piazza della Scala, Via Marino and Via Foscolo. Currently under the "Piumelli" and "Montblanc" brands, the two units will be granted use for 18 years. For the first shop of 134 metres, the annual starting price is 388 thousand euros, for the second, of 290 square metres, the annual starting price is 840 thousand euros. The two new boutiques will be larger than the current ones: additional rooms on the first floor will be connected to the spaces on the ground, basement, mezzanine and mezzanine floors, on which the two shops are located today.
 
“The rationalization of the spaces, thanks to the application of the principle of verticalism, allows us to make the most of the potential of the Gallery which has, over time, been the subject of enhancement interventions aimed at preserving its monumental, historical, cultural and identity significance and at the same time, to increase its profitability, to continue to guarantee services to the citizens of our city", states the councilor for Budget and Heritage, Emmanuel Conte.
 
The second tender concerns a 118 square meter unit with two windows, on the side arm towards Via Silvio Pellico. The annual starting fee is set at 342 thousand euros.
 
Both tenders, open until 28 September, provide for the award according to the criterion of the most economically advantageous offer, with a maximum score of 40 for the economic offer and 60 for the technical offer. The objective of the tenders is to guarantee the high quality of the proposed use of the spaces, which must be linked to the most prestigious and consolidated traditions of the city or to the excellence of Made in Italy or international products.
