A package of actions to alleviate the economic difficulties of dealers has been approved. Tasca: "We are continually looking for solutions that allow us to support businesses and not burden the Municipality's budget"

Milan, 6 December 2020 – The Administration has approved the guidelines for supporting the commercial activities of the monumental complex of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
Even the concessionaires of the "Salotto", who pay significant fees to the Municipality, are subjected to the harsh economic consequences of the Covid-19 health emergency. For this reason, the Administration's intention is to protect the activities through some concrete actions and at no cost to the Institution to mitigate the crisis and support a faster recovery.

"We have implemented some important administrative actions that can help the companies that have invested in the Galleria's shops to face the difficult moment that the whole city is experiencing - states the councilor for State Property, Roberto Tasca -. Without weighing on the already complex situation of the municipal budget, still in balance thanks to the work of the political and technical components of the Administration, today we present to those who offer beauty and prestige to the world in the living room of the Milanese some possible tools to resist the economic emergency. We do it without costs for the Body and with maximum regulatory transparency".

The Administration foresees the possibility for the period October 2020 - June 2021 to integrate the traditional commercial offer by temporarily allocating a part of the commercial surface to the activation of temporary shops with sales activities of exclusive items, in limited edition or in stock. An activity that can be managed directly by the dealer or, in the forms provided for by commercial regulations, through the institution of departmental trust.

This is an important opening towards dealers, who exceptionally will be able to expand the product categories on sale through authorization from the Municipality. A way to increase your income, guarantee that you pay the fees to the municipal administration and reduce the risk of a business and employment crisis.
The possibility is then envisaged to conclude capital increases that strengthen the capital structure of companies, without the so-called change of control and duplication of concession fees taking place.

Furthermore, to ensure speed and efficiency in the rotation of expiring commercial businesses, the Administration has decided to correct the methods for determining the starting price. The weighted average of the rental values of the two years preceding the new tenders will be used as a parameter and no longer the estimate of the current market value.

Finally, the 10% discount on the concession fee, previously provided for single-window shops only, is extended to historic multi-window shops.
