Milan, 14 April 2021 – Milan supports those in difficulty. One month after the launch, there have been over 350 requests for information to access the income support funds made available by the Ambrosiano Welfare Foundation with "Credito solidale 2.0 - Ripartenza", the initiative that allows Milanese people to access credit at cost zero, up to a maximum of 10.000 euros, to cover primary expenses: rent, condominium expenses, health expenses, nursery school installments, children's school meals...

"Through 'Solidarity Credit 2.0 - Restart' - comments the councilor for employment policies and productive activities Cristina Tajani - we want to offer a practical and safe tool to a growing number of people who, due to the pandemic, are experiencing a reduction in income and risks slipping into conditions of fragility. The over 350 requests for information and the 50 loans already guaranteed by the Welfare Foundation demonstrate how numerous citizens and families are in difficulty due to the economic consequences of the pandemic but who, thanks to a little help economic and valid support, wish to recover their active and productive role in society".

Thanks to "Solidarity Credit 2.0 - Ripartenza", the Ambrosiano Welfare Foundation guarantees applicants access to credit from affiliated banks to make it possible to provide a minimum loan of 2.000 euros up to a maximum amount of 10 thousand euros and recognizes a contribution to non-repayable fund for the reduction of 100% of interest. Repayment of the loan begins 12 months after disbursement, with sustainable installments that can be deferred for up to 5 years.

Specifically, from 5 March to today, 350 requests for information have been received to access the support service, in 80% of cases they concern help to cover expenses relating to the home (rent, condominium expenses, bills, etc.) while for the remaining 20% ​​the requests concern the coverage of generic family expenses (nursery, school canteen, furnishings), training (own or children's) as well as medical expenses. 80% of employees request support (of which 90% on layoffs), 12% are freelancers and VAT numbers, while the remaining 8% are recipients of unemployment benefits. The average amount of the loan requested is 6.647 euros. To date, 50 applications have already been accepted and processed which will allow families to access 330 euros in funding.

"Solidarity credit 2.0 - Restart" is added to the other two proposals of a more project nature that the Welfare Foundation already makes available to Milanese citizens for their restart: starting a business and Partita attIVA. Two opportunities created to encourage the creation of new businesses on solid foundations and to facilitate investments by all freelancers and self-employed workers with a VAT number.
