Mid-August. All civic museums and exhibition venues of the Municipality of Milan are open

Milan, 13 August 2021 – It will be a mid-August holiday of art and culture that Milan will offer to the citizens and visitors of our city on Sunday 15 August. In fact, all civic museums and exhibitions will remain open at the usual times, both those set up in the museum rooms dedicated to temporary exhibitions and those hosted in the exhibition venues, such as Palazzo Reale and the Contemporary Art Pavilion (PAC).

In particular, Royal Palace proposes "The ladies of art. Stories of women between the 500th and 600th centuries", scheduled until August 22nd; "Divine and avant-garde. Women in Russian art", open until September 19; "First, Woman. Margaret Bourke-White," extended to Aug. 29; "Marcello Lo Giudice. Sun and oceans paintings", scheduled until August 29; and "Sculptured. Photographic reflections around female statuary", open until 5 September.

Il CAP instead it hosts "Autoritratto", Luisa Lambri's first large-scale solo exhibition in Italy, and "Il tempo delle farfalle", a selection of works by the Kurdish artist, journalist and activist Zehra Doğan, both scheduled until 17 September.

The exhibition rooms of the museums host: "The body and the soul, from Donatello to Michelangelo. Italian sculpture of the Renaissance", the great exhibition created with the Louvre which will remain open to the public in the Visconti rooms of the Castello Sforzesco until October 24; the retrospective on Mario Sironi, hosted in the rooms of Museo del Novecento and open to visitors until March 27, 2022; for the Furla Series cycle, the solo exhibition of the Iranian artist Nairy Baghramian at Modern Art Gallery (GAM), scheduled until September 26.

Reservations are recommended but not mandatory, therefore all ticket offices are active. Entry is limited - booking is therefore recommended to ensure entry and avoid queues - and masks are mandatory, as required by law. Please remember that to access the rooms you must show your green pass.
