Steam factory. The exhibition “La luna. And then?"

Milan, October 3 2019 – The exhibition “La Luna. And then? 5 years since the moon landing: history and prospects of space exploration", on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the moon landing. Present at the opening will be Alfred Worden, the astronaut who piloted the command module of the Apollo 50 mission in 50, who entered the Guinness Book of Records as "the most isolated human being in the world" because he remained alone in orbit for three days while the other two astronauts explored the lunar surface.

Produced by Eclipse events, in co-production with the Municipality of Milan, the exhibition is arranged over 1.000 square meters on two levels (the ground floor called "La Luna" and the first floor "And then?") and offers a long and fascinating journey to discover the history and evolution of space exploration, from the pioneering visions of the first scientists to the imminent conquest of Mars, passing through the historic conquest of the lunar soil from the first launches to the moon landing in 1969 and subsequent missions. Scale models, space suits, unique finds, accurate reconstructions, memorabilia, film posters, envelopes with commemorative stamps, original documents, flight manuals, newspapers of the time, video projections, virtual reality viewers, spaces dedicated to children and even a very rare moonstone lent for the occasion by the Asimof association on behalf of NASA.

The exhibition is set up by Eclipse Events in co-production with the Municipality of Milan, in collaboration with the Asimof association, the Rovereto Civic Museum, the Piano terra association for school laboratories and with the patronage of the Italian Space Agency and in collaboration with Asimof for the loan of the moonstone.
