Eurobasket 2022. The Fan zone in Piazza del Duomo inaugurated

Milan, September 1 2022 – This afternoon the Fan zone of the Milan group of Eurobasket 2022 was officially opened, which will start tomorrow, Friday 2 September, at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago.

From today until Thursday 8 September, Piazza Duomo will be transformed into an arena of over 1.300 square meters which will welcome Italian basketball fans and those from all over Europe with shows and moments of entertainment.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives of the municipal administration, the FIBA ​​Executive director Kamil Novák, the FIP General Secretary Maurizio Bertea, the coach of the Italian national team Gianmarco Pozzecco, the captain Luigi Datome and all the players of the national team.

The event was presented by Dalila Setti and Margherita Granbassi.

Organized by Master group sport, commercial advisor of the Italian Basketball Federation, the Fan zone is open from 10am to 20pm, with a rich lineup of collateral events, tournaments, talks, performances by cheerleaders and freestylers, sponsor activations, basketball clinics and so much more.

Furthermore, an area dedicated entirely to gaming has been set up in the space, with ten PlayStation 5 stations to allow fans to challenge themselves with the NBA2K title, with many prizes up for grabs every day. On 4 and 8 September the eSports area will be the stage for the championship finals of the FIP eBasket tour, the 1v1 and 5v5 federal tournament which will close its second season in Milan with the matches, for the first time in attendance, between the best Italian NBA2K gamers.

In Milan, in Group C of FIBA ​​Eurobasket 2022, the Italian national team and those of Greece, Croatia, Estonia, Great Britain and Ukraine will compete.
