Milan, August 9 2021 – "Estate Sforzesca", the festival of music, theatre, dance and performing arts curated and promoted by the Municipality of Milan and the heart of the La bella estate program, continues until 7 September in the Courtyard of the Arms of the Castle.

The program of the Ferragosto evening has been designed to be transversal and inclusive and therefore offers two events that are completely different musically and differently usable by the public: at 21pm, the concert "The classic Ferragosto" by the Milan Symphony Orchestra "Giuseppe Verdi" which will perform live music by WA Mozart and LV Beethoven, while starting from 23pm, the DJ set "Save the dance" will be streamed on the Facebook channel of the internationally renowned DJ Joe T Vannelli, recorded behind closed doors and without an audience on the stage of "Sforza summer" last August 2nd. The performance, curated by Sound Faktory and included in the "Joe T Vannelli live on tour", is part of the project born in April 2020, in full confinement, to enhance the Italian territory and its beauties in the world through dance music/ house and, at the same time, to send a message, "Save the dance", in support of the sector which has been severely affected by the health crisis. The project has 55 stages in Italy, including castles, fortresses, museums, squares, nature reserves and 7 UNESCO Heritage sites. It is the most watched streaming DJ set in Italy and boasts a heterogeneous and international audience.

"Every year Sforza Summer proves to be more and more a strategic project for entertainment, in Milan and beyond, as well as the right choice for citizens who are passionate about music and entertainment and visitors who are starting to return to the city – declared the Councilor for Culture Filippo Del Corno – This is demonstrated not only by the great participation of cultural operators in the construction phase of the calendar, but also, and above all, by the numerous sold outs recorded to date".

For the week of August, "Estate Sforzesca" has scheduled: tonight, Monday 9th, the show "Sindrome da web - a show of dance and current affairs" of the Teatro Oscar Danza Teatro, which will bring to the stage a cross-section of society, a retrospective bittersweet on the addictions resulting from the advent of the internet and the new normalities of relationships and contact such as Whatsapp, video gaming, social media and so on.

The fourth and fifth appointment of "Classical Milan" will follow at "Estate Sforzesca": on Tuesday 10th the concert "The classic rock concert. The pax side of the Moon vs. The Ambrosian chambermaids", which will see the string ensemble on stage female "Le cameriste ambrosiane" together with the group "The pax side of the Moon", talented musicians with a unique style on the wavelength of Elio and the tense stories, an unprecedented and unpredictable artistic meeting; Wednesday 11th the "S/concerto. A jam session between music and literature" curated by La fabbrica del gess, a show between cinema and literature where the soundtrack meets the story and the word.

The week of August will continue with three events dedicated to theatre: on Thursday 12th the show of stories, songs, theatrical anecdotes, memories, cabaret "Noi due idioti" by "Il mecenate", which will see Luca Sandri and Federico on stage Zanandrea and other protagonists in a tribute to the television variety show; Saturday 14th, Sforza Estate will pay homage to Giorgio Strehler through two special events: "The voice of Strehler" curated by Spirit de Milan APS, where the figure of Strehler will be remembered through the three voices of Giorgio Bongiovanni and Stefano De Luca, two of his students of the first course established in the Scuola del Piccolo Teatro, and Umberto Ceriani, an actor who worked for a long time with Strehler within the extraordinary artistic family of which they are all still part today; followed by "Sorcerers' Apprentices. The Strehler method", curated by the Piccolo Teatro of Milan and the result of a broader collaboration between the theatre, Rai Cultura and the Municipality of Milan, which will see the exclusive and preview screening of the Rai Cultura special "Sorcerers' apprentices. The Strehler method", with an introduction by the director of the Piccolo Teatro di Milano Claudio Longhi. The documentary will be broadcast the same evening on Rai5. 
 
To access the Sforza Summer events, as required by law for all places of culture and entertainment, from Friday 6 August it is necessary to show the green pass and an identity document at the entrance.
