Milan, June 30 2019 – Sixty-two evenings dedicated to music (from classical to jazz, from rock to pop, from gospel to punk), seventeen to theatre, six to dance, for a total of eighty-two events, eight of which are specifically designed for children and teenagers. These are some numbers of the seventh edition of "Estate Sforzesca", the music, theater and dance festival which is growing this year in quality and quantity, with a programming span that covers the entire Milanese summer season - from 7 June to 25 August - and 82 dates on the bill: practically one show per evening for the whole summer.

The "Estate Sforzesca" program, promoted and coordinated by the Municipality of Milan|Culture, was constructed by selecting the best proposals from the various cultural operators who responded to the invitation of the Municipality of Milan. Among the selection criteria were quality, originality and innovation, which allowed us to propose highly inclusive programming, aimed both at citizens and at the increasingly numerous tourists present in the city during the summer season.

“Over the years, Estate Sforzesca has become the longest and most dense Italian summer festival of live entertainment – states the Councilor for Culture Filippo Del Corno – with an extremely engaging offering, thanks to a program that ranges between different genres and languages, and inclusive of all cultural operators who participate with original and attractive proposals for an increasingly rich and lively Milanese summer".

Since 2013 - the year of the first edition - the event has seen an almost tripling of scheduled events (from 30 to 82), and therefore of the public, continuing to maintain a controlled price for all paid shows (60 in this edition) and all the others have free admission (22). There are always 500 seats available, while the show area has a capacity of around 2 thousand people standing.

“A virtuous collaboration between public administration, associations for the protection of the environment and private operators – comments the councilor for Labor Policies, Productive Activities and Commerce Cristina Tajani – which will allow not only to experience a Sforza summer between aperitifs, events and appointments in complete relaxation and free from single-use plastics, but also, thanks to the information materials and Legambiente volunteers present on site, to promote virtuous behavior capable of changing the habits of consumers and citizens, raising their awareness of respect and greater protection of the environment, starting with small daily gestures”.
