Milan, August 23 2022 – Applications are open until 23 September from Italian citizens, adults and residents of Milan, who wish to actively take part in the political elections for the renewal of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic.

It is possible to express one's availability to serve as "president of the polling station" or "scrutineer" by completing the form inquiry form.

For polling station presidents (a high school diploma is required) the expected compensation, per single voting round, amounts to 187 euros, while scrutineers will be paid an emolument of 145 euros.

Voting takes place only on Sunday 25 September, from 7 am to 23 pm. For the Senate, only voters who have reached the age of 25 can no longer participate in the vote, therefore, for both houses of Parliament - House and Senate - all electors and all electors who have reached the age of 18 on the date of the vote will be able to vote.

The voter must present himself at his polling station with a valid identity document and the electoral card. Those who have lost it or have run out of spaces available can go, without the need for an appointment, to the electoral office in via Messina 52, open from Monday to Friday from 8 to 30 and from 12 to 00pm, or at the registry office in via Larga 14, which respects the following summer hours: from 30am to 15pm (the extended hours on Saturday mornings and Thursdays until 30pm will resume from 12 September).

Citizens residing in Milan who, for reasons of work, study or medical treatment, are temporarily abroad for a period of at least three months, in which the political elections are held, and their family members living with them, will be able to exercise the right to vote by correspondence in the foreign constituency. The declaration containing the intention to vote abroad must be submitted by the 32nd day before the consultation, i.e. by 24 August. As with every electoral consultation, also on the occasion of the political elections on Sunday 25 September, the municipal administration is making three specific services available for people residing in Milan who need support in voting.

The first is the transport to polling stations for people with disabilities.

The Municipality organizes free transport by taxi or vehicle equipped with a platform, to reach the polling station and return to their homes. To access the service it is necessary to be in possession of a disability certificate issued by ATS to be shown, together with an identity document, to the driver of the public car who will take care of the transport. Requests are accepted in the week preceding the election, up until the day of voting.

For citizens suffering from very serious illnesses or in conditions of continuous and vital dependence on electro-medical equipment, home voting is guaranteed. The request must be made by September 5th.

Voters and voters with serious disabilities or who are blind can ask the Municipality to affix the stamp (AVD) to their electoral card which will allow them - when going to the polls on voting day - to be accompanied inside the voting booth by a another voter from their family or freely chosen as long as they are registered in the lists of any Municipality, to be able to follow the vote.

The application to obtain a stamp on the electoral card can also be presented by a person other than the voter concerned.

La forms to access home and assisted voting must be delivered to the electoral office of the Municipality of Milan in via Messina.

In accordance with the provisions of current legislation on direct electoral propaganda, 170 spaces have been identified for the election of the Chamber of Deputies and 170 for the election of the Senate of the Republic, in homogeneous locations for each area of ​​territorial decentralisation, i.e. the municipalities . The assignment of the latter by the Administration remains subject to the receipt from the Prefecture of Milan of the data relating to the single-member candidatures and lists of candidates definitively admitted, with the respective marks and definitive order numbers resulting from the draws.
