Education. A week dedicated to play and children's rights: from 23 to 29 May

Milan, May 22 2022 – An entire week to celebrate the rights of children and adolescents and, for the first time, the newly established Play Day. From 23 to 29 May in the city there will be many initiatives organized by the Education and Welfare sectors, by the municipalities and by the Guarantor of the Rights of Children and Adolescents, together with schools and third sector bodies, to involve children and adults in moments of reflection and play.

The dozens of initiatives that will take place to commemorate the ratification by the Italian parliament, on 27 May 1991, of the UN Convention on the Rights of Children and Adolescents have been collected on the website of the Municipality of Milan. From debates to workshops, in schools and in the open spaces of the city, children, girls and boys, together with educators and adults, will have a wide choice to reflect on the themes of listening and participation, focusing attention on article 31 of the Convention on the right to play and cultural enjoyment. This is the theme chosen following the stimulus that came directly from the children of the Council of Municipality 8 - who noted how much gaming was sacrificed during the pandemic - and implemented by the Guarantor and the entire Municipal Council also for the Day of the game, which from this year it will be celebrated every May 28th, in the full spirit of a Milan that is friendly to boys and girls, boys and girls.
