Milan, June 7 2021 – The path of social innovation "In play for the future" continues with an important new step, promoted by the Milan Foundation, with the municipal administration and Limonta sport, which has the aim of redeveloping urban areas and degraded sports spaces, so that they return to be places of real social cohesion and aggregation.

Today the multifunctional sports spaces of the "Bruno Munari" comprehensive institute in Via dei Salici 2, in Municipality 7 in Milan, were inaugurated, in the presence of the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala, the Councilor for Education and Instruction of the Municipality Laura Galimberti, of the President of the Milan Foundation Paolo Scaroni, of the Headmaster Clara Lucia Alemani and of Emilio Ostinelli of Limonta sport, a leading Italian company in the production and construction of synthetic and hybrid grass pitches.

The intervention, which allowed the creation of a multi-sport basketball-volleyball field, with a new artificial surface, the re-installation of the baskets and volleyball nets, follows the regeneration of two sports fields of the "Alda Merini" comprehensive institute in Municipality 8, completed and inaugurated last autumn. Revitalized works and places which represent today more than ever a concrete message of hope towards the future for many young people, students and children in the neighborhood who, after difficult and complex months, can now return to live moments of socialization and sports practice with serenity.

"The multisport basketball-volleyball field of the Bruno Munari Comprehensive Institute that we are inaugurating today will be a special sports space – explained the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala – because it will not only be open to children who attend nursery school and primary school headquarters in via dei Salici, but will also welcome the children of the associations that collaborate with the school. I would like to thank the Milan Foundation for having created this space dedicated to the youngest and for having thus contributed to taking a further step in the implementation of the intervention programme. 'At stake for the future', which sees us collaborating to improve the sports facilities of some Milanese schools. Sport is the key to the healthy growth of our children, both personal and relational.
