School buildings. The children of the Roman Legions nursery and nursery school have been relocated
Milan, October 17 2019 – All the boys and girls who were attending the nursery and nursery school in Viale Legioni Romane, which suffered flooding last October 15th due to inadequate provisional protection of the roof during the removal phases, will be relocated. of the existing roof: in fact, work is underway on the school to renovate the roof.
As regards the approximately 150 children of the nursery school and the spring section, a single solution has been identified, which can keep them all together, in via Valdagno. The structure will be arranged and set up in these days to accommodate the children starting from Monday 21 October, and then have them return to the Roman Legions at the end of the works. In the case of the nursery, alternative solutions have been found, keeping the dialogue open with the families and trying to meet individual needs as much as possible: places for the approximately 50 little ones are already available.
“This case also leads us to reiterate the need for companies that participate in public tenders to do so with the awareness that not completing the work in the agreed ways and times creates enormous inconvenience for all citizens – comments the councilor Education Laura Galimberti –. Attention to this should be even more amplified when it comes to schools, since children are affected first. For the damage and inconvenience in the Roman Legions, we are evaluating the actions to be taken towards the company, which has assured us to restore the affected areas within a maximum of 15 days".
In the meantime, the company was asked to immediately lay the first new layer of waterproofing (which can guarantee the seal in case of further rain) and, subsequently, to create the other layers of insulation and waterproofing. Before making the premises usable again and considering the state of deterioration of the false ceiling and systems, the Administration asked the company for a report from a qualified technician who verifies the full safety and functionality of the internal environments.
