School buildings. 59 children from the Guicciardi nursery have been relocated

In-depth technical analysis started after last night's flooding

Milan, October 7 2019 – Starting tomorrow afternoon, the 59 boys and girls who are already attending the Guicciardi nursery will be relocated. In fact, following the heavy rains last night, the temporary protection, created by the company carrying out the work on the roof of the school, did not retain the water, which infiltrated the premises.

“After the delays of this summer, the works had to be completed, paying the utmost attention to ensuring that the infiltration situation that occurred at the beginning of the year was not repeated – declares Education Councilor Laura Galimberti –. This was evidently not the case and for this reason we started an in-depth technical analysis to ascertain any responsibilities. We can only apologize to all the families for these further inconveniences and we hope that the construction site will be closed as soon as possible, so that all the children can return."

A definitive solution is expected in about a month, but the company has been asked to install a temporary cover within about ten days to allow work to be carried out without further accidents. During this period the children will be relocated to different structures between Municipalities 8 and 9: the 15 infants, in particular, will be divided into three groups, each followed by the relevant educator; while the 44 medium-large ones will be divided into about ten nurseries.
