School buildings. PNRR, the project for the new childhood center in via Reni has been financed
Three other schools have already been admitted to European funds
Milan, August 17 2022 – The Municipality of Milan also won the financing of 4 million and 920 thousand euros for the demolition of the nursery school in via Reni 1 and its transformation into a nursery center with PNRR funds.
The publication of the rankings by the Ministry of Education confirms the funding: among the applications received from all over Italy, the intervention proposed by the Municipality of Milan obtained an excellent score and is at the top of the Lombardy ranking.
The project involves the demolition of the prefabricated building in via Reni 1, which today houses six sections of nursery school for children aged 3 to 6, and its transformation in structural and energy efficiency terms, which involves an expansion of the educational offer with the creation of a "Childhood Center 0÷6", therefore nursery and nursery school.
A new structure will be placed on the current covered area of approximately 1.300 square metres: the ground floor will house the new nursery, for around thirty children from 0 to 3 years old, together with the nursery school which will also occupy the first floor, and for which six sections will be confirmed.
The financing of the children's center in via Reni 1 is added to those already confirmed and obtained by the Municipality of Milan as part of the other PNRR financing lines, for a total of over 40 million euros.
There are already three other schools eligible for funding: thebuilding in viale Sarca 24 in Municipality 9 (Call for new schools from the Ministry of Education) with funding of over 10 million and 150.000 euros for the demolition, reclamation and reconstruction of the lower secondary school. The other two loans are part of the large urban regeneration project through Integrated Plans which will affect a large area east of Milan in Municipality 3 and includes, among other actions, the construction of the new school complex in via Caduti in mission of peace in the Rubattino district (funding of 13 million and 500.000 euros) and the renovation with conservative restoration of the complex overlooking Rimembranze di Lambrate (over 18 million euros).
The interventions financed by the PNRR must be completed in 2026.
