School buildings. The demolition of the former nursery school in via Rimini has been approved

There are currently 40 extraordinary maintenance sites underway; the construction of six new schools is underway. The winners for the Pizzigoni secondary school and the Scialoia campus will be announced on 29 November

Milan, November 26 2019 – The economic framework of 1 million 850 thousand euros for the demolition and reclamation of the former nursery school in via Rimini 25/8, in Municipality 6, has been approved by the Administration. Closed in 2012 due to the discovery of asbestos, the tender will now be prepared for demolition, which will be followed by planning for reconstruction over the next year.
 
Four resolutions were also approved, for 4 million euros each, to be able to prepare the tenders for as many framework agreements relating to extraordinary maintenance works regarding safety, regulatory adjustments and energy improvement of school buildings. Inside there are construction, plant engineering, architectural barrier removal and reclamation works which follow 75% of the priorities defined by the municipalities and 25% of the technical planning. 
 
To these 16 million euros, in addition to the investments for the demolition of Rimini and another 16,5 million planned for the new Catone school, in this year's budget, 10 million euros are added for the framework agreements regarding the CPI (Fire Prevention Certificate).
 
Furthermore, over 40 extraordinary maintenance sites are currently underway throughout the city, divided into approximately 20 contracts for a total of 66 million euros. Among these, the most significant works are those in Colletta (completed for 350 thousand euros, underway for 450 thousand euros and in planning for 1,5 million euros), Ruffini (underway for 1,4 million euros; already carried out for others 800 thousand euros), Monte Baldo (underway and in planning for 1,5 million euros), Infanzia Gattamelata 22 (underway for 700 thousand euros), Stoppani (underway and in planning for up to 3,5 million euros) and Moscati (underway for 5 million euros).
 
Over 30 construction sites closed in the last year. For the safety of the attics, for example, in the last year alone, interventions worth over 3 million euros have been carried out, among others, in the Monte Popera, Massaua, Mompiani nursery schools and nursery schools, in the Paravia 83 primary school, in the Castellino 9 secondary school and in the Circo/Massaia complex; the same type of work is currently underway in the Paravia 3 nursery, in the Iseo and Braschi primaries, in the Monte Velino primary and secondary schools and in the Cipro secondary schools.
 
Also underway - for a total of over 80 million euros - are the construction of the new Pisa and Viscontini (advanced), Strozzi, Brocchi, Magreglio and Adriano 60 schools (land reclamation underway). While designs are underway for Crespi 40 (works scheduled to start in October 2020) and Catone (works scheduled to start in January 2021), Mantegna Monviso (2,2 million euros), Brunacci (8 million euros) and Narcisi 1 ( 5 million euros).
 
Finally, on 29 November the winners of the international architecture competition for the design of the new lower secondary school in via Pizzigoni and the Scialoia campus will be announced, which will be a model, including a nursery, a nursery school, a primary school and a secondary school. for all future schools in the city.
