Sunday at the museum. The free opening initiative for all Milanese civics returns from 8 May

Milan, May 5 2022 – The "Sunday at the museum" initiative returns on Sunday 8 May, which allows free entry to the museums and cultural institutes of the Municipality of Milan every first Sunday of the month (next event on Sunday 5 June).

The Municipality of Milan, the first in Italy, had joined the initiative introduced by MiBACT in June 2014, always recording a high number of visitors in all civic institutions; in October 2020, after a period of interruptions linked to the forced closure of museum institutions and limitations linked to online booking obligations due to quotas, the initiative was also formally suspended.

Now, following the end of the state of emergency and the reactivation of the initiative by the Ministry of Culture (MiC), "Sunday at the museum" returns from next Sunday, offering citizens and tourists the opportunity to visit the collections of: Museum of the Twentieth Century, Gallery of Modern Art, Museums of the Sforzesco Castle, Archaeological Museum, Civic Aquarium, Museum of Natural history, Boschi Di Stefano house museum and Francesco Messina museum studio.

The use of a mask is no longer mandatory, as per ministerial provisions, but is still recommended, especially in case of crowding in the rooms.
