Design. With the Etico Ethical Award, Milan rewards design that is attentive to the environment and society

Milan, November 20 2019 – Milan is increasingly attentive to ethics and the environment even in design. The awards ceremony of the Etico Ethical Award, now in its third edition this year, which aims to recognize the merits of those subjects who they work in favor of human beings, promoting the ethical aspect in every field of activity. 

Various award categories were awarded. For "Design in the social sphere", awards will be given to Guri I Zi, an artisan company born from a project with a socio-cultural background (http://www.guriizi.com/), and Don Chino Pezzoli, who has always been committed to supporting people in difficulty with the cooperative Promozione Umana and the community for therapeutic recovery “La Crucca” (https://www.promozioneumana.it). In the "Design for Life" category, two international excellences in architecture and design will be awarded: Massoud Hassani, with the life-saving project Mine Kafon (https://minekafon.org) and Daan Roosegaarde, who with the Smog Free Tower and Smog Free Bicycle projects intends to take action against massive air pollution (https://www.studioroosegaarde.net). For the "Design for districts and territory" category, the City of Omegna will be awarded, nicknamed City of Creativity, supporter of the message "Creativity as a promoter of the urban, cultural and economic quality of the city", which will celebrate 2020 years in 100 of the birth of Gianni Rodari with the inauguration of the Rodari Museum, the first interactive museum in the world dedicated to his teaching (http://www.comune.omegna.vb.it).  

Furthermore, on the occasion of the tenth year of Etico Ethical, the Roll of Honor will be presented for the first time, a prestigious collection reserved for companies and designers who have received the Award or Honorable Mention from 2009 to today. Roll of Honor is the first document that will become part of "Plana - the Museum to come". The awards arise from the action of the Plana Cultural Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Milan, the Metropolitan City of Milan and ADI (Association for Industrial Design).
